The course takes place in the Charente Maritime, about 60 km inland from La Rochelle.

The large, stone kitchen, built in the local style, is situated in a 200 year old farmhouse. The house is in a large walled garden which includes a swimming pool.

The house is in a small hamlet. The nearest town and shops are 15 km away, so very little spending money will be necessary.

Students are accommodated in the house in twin-bedded rooms with private bathrooms. The second floor includes a small sitting/tv room for the students' own use should they want some time out.

The nearest airports are at La Rochelle, Poitiers and Angoulême. Trains go directly to Poitiers from Lille, which can be accessed by Eurostar from London.

Pick-up can also be arranged from Bordeaux or Nantes, but these airports are a good two hours drive away so a small charge will be added to cover extra motorway and fuel costs.

Should any of the students be with family requiring accommodation, we have friends, Vivian and Ian Gunn, running a B&B just down the road: www.manoirangle.com
