Over the course of the week, three-course meals are prepared every day by the students. The ingredients, all locally sourced, are purchased in the many local markets. So students have the perfect opportunity to practise their French (or even learn a little)! However, French is not compulsory for this course.

Students learn and cook for three hours each day, either morning or evening depending on when they shop. They prepare starters, mains and puddings with help and supervision. This is a hands-on course; the teacher will not be doing the cooking for them - a practical approach is far more effective than demonstrations alone.

All meals are included in the price, and students may help to prepare lunch and breakfast as well. However, this is not compulsory and they are free to read or spend time in the garden and swimming pool if they prefer.

Courses run from Sunday to Saturday. Students start cooking on the Monday and cook every day for three hours (these are sometimes spaced throughout the day depending on the daily programme). We also make time for visits around the local area.

Up to five students are accepted at a time. Should a group of friends wishing to go together require other dates, such as mid-week to mid-week, these can be arranged.

No special equipment is required. Aprons, bathroom towels, pool towels and hair-dryers are provided. In the kitchen, students must have sensible shoes and long-sleeved t-shirts. Long hair must be tied back.

One week at Teen Cooks costs £475 or euro/dollar equivalent. This covers all food, accommodation, teaching and trips. The price covers pick-up and drop off at the airport or station (but not the air or rail fare).
